Haliey Welch, the Hawk Tuah girl who went viral last month , has opened up about the drawbacks of her "spit on that thang" fame .

The 23-year-old internet sensation, who rose to prominence after her risque response during a street interview with Tim and Dee, admitted she "can't really go out in public by myself anymore", and that she has one major fear in particular .

During an appearance on KIIS FM's The Kyle and Jackie O show over the weekend, Haliey expressed her fears : "I'm paranoid of getting kidnapped or something. I'm very paranoid about that. And I'm little too, so I can't really defend myself with big people or nothing like that."

The Nashville native recounted a potentially dangerous encounter with an obsessed fan at Walmart. She said: "I had a guy come up to me in Walmart a few weeks ago, and he was like, 'I know you'. And I said, 'No you don't', and he like, 'Yeah I do, I know you.'".

When the host mentioned seeing her surrounded by five bodyguards at an event, Haliey responded: "Yeah - I needed them,".

She also revealed having to explain her infamous catchphrase to her grandmother three times. The phrase originated from a question posed to her: "What's one move in bed that makes a man go crazy every time? That you do.", reports the Daily Star .

To which she humorously replied: "Oh, you gotta give him that 'hawk tuah' and spit on that thang."

Haliey has turned her success into becoming one of the most instantly recognisable faces on the internet. She's often lauded for her kind-heartedness, with fans frequently commenting "we made the right person famous" under her viral videos.

Just last week, there were whispers that Hollywood bigwigs are keen to craft a reality TV show centred around her life. Amidst her duties as a judge at beauty pageants over the July Fourth weekend, the Nashville sensation was said to be in discussions with production companies and talent agents.

Insiders claim that Hailey's viral stardom and her "relatable and humorous" persona, which she recently displayed on a Barstool podcast with Brianna LaPaglia, are key reasons why Tinseltown is eager to jump on board.
