The 62-year-old actor was seen in a TikTok clip from @thisissangitapatel’s account , standing next to Benedict Cumberbatch with Julia Roberts and Danny Moder also in the same row. His purple suit and lavender shirt matched Kate’s symbolic purple dress , but it’s his excitement over seeing the Princess of Wales that has the internet talking. It’s almost as if you can hear his thunderous claps over the music as he proudly smiled at the royal when she waved to the crowd. “Wow! Cruise’s respect for the crown goes way back, but fans can’t forget how chivalrous he was to the Princess of Wales at the Top Gun: Maverick premiere in May 2022. He offered his hand to the then-Duchess of Cambridge as they ascended the stairs, leaving Prince William to just look on. The low-key flirtatious moment was harmless, but it sure did have the internet buzzing for days. An A-list actor swooped in to help the future Queen of England.

The Mission Impossible star wasn’t trying to steal the Prince of Wales’ wife, he’s equally as close to William. Cruise showed up to support him at London’s Air Ambulance Charity Gala Dinner in February. There are whispers that the A-list star, who makes his home in London, is angling for a royal title.

A source told OK! Magazin e earlier this year that Cruise “would “ give his right arm to get an honorary knighthood” — and it could totally happen. William gave the star a shoutout during his speech that night. “If you wouldn’t mind not borrowing either of the new helicopters for the next Mission Impossible , it would be appreciated,” he joked. “We have all seen on our screens that – how can I put it – you seem to have a different take on ‘normal wear and tear’ to the rest of us. It’s not the kind that buffs out, that’s for sure.”
