Queen Letizia of Spain embraced one of the most popular trends among royal women and fashioned a power suit for a series of royal engagements and audiences at the Zarzuela Palace in Madrid on Wednesday. The royal was joined by members of her family, including husband King Felipe VI and daughters Princess Leonor, 18, and Princess Infanta Sofía, 17.

For her day of engagements and audiences, Queen Letizia opted for a cornflower blue power suit courtesy of Women Limited by El Corte Inglés. The suit featured a long-sleeve, single-breasted blazer with a single black button and deep pockets.

Queen Letizia coordinated the blazer with matching trousers. The Spanish royal wore a white blouse with intricate sheer detailing at the neckline. She also wore a pair of Vivobarefoot crisp white trainers and completed the ensemble with a pair of earrings by Gold & Roses.

Queen Letizia’s husband, King Felipe VI, complemented his wife’s ensemble with a white and blue striped tie in a similar shade of cornflower blue. He also wore a white button-down shirt and gray, double-breasted blazer with black trousers. The royal couple’s daughters embraced their own individual style sensibilities.

Princess Leonor wore a black-and-white midi dress with flowers cascading down the fabric. Princess Sofía fashioned a long-sleeve red dress with an asymmetric hemline. Queen Letizia’s choice of attire is very on-trend with several royal women across Europe.

Queen Letizia has fashioned power suits in the past, along with such royals as Queen Maxima of the Netherlands, Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden and even Queen Letizia’s own daughter Princess Leonor, who fashioned a fiery-red power suit by Carolina Herrera for her first solo trip to Portugal on Friday.

The power suit has long been a staple of several royal women’s wardrobes, dating back to Princess Diana fashioning the look in the 1980s. Queen Letizia’s style often marries classic silhouettes and traditional elements with a modern, contemporary twist. Her latest power suit moment not only showed the royal in business attire, it featured Queen Letizia staying on-trend and current with her wardrobe choices.
