    The official Rob Peace trailer for Republic Pictures’ upcoming biographical drama, which hails from Oscar nominee Chiwetel Ejiofor , has been released. Following its world premiere at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival, the film is now slated to arrive in select theaters on August 2, 2024.

    Who is in the Rob Peace trailer?

    The Rob Peace trailer features Ejiofor as an incarcerated father whose titular son will do whatever it takes to get him out of prison. The video also introduces Jay Will as Rob Peace, Mary J. Blige as Jackie, Camila Cabello as Naya, and Michael Kelly as Reverend Edwin Leahy. Addition cast members include Gbenga Akinnagbe, Mare Winningham, Caleb Eberhardt, Curt Morlaye, Juan Castano, Benjamin Papac and more.

    “The film follows the true story of a brilliant young man (Will) torn between his father’s shadowed past and his own promising future,” reads the synopsis. “Raised by his devoted mother (Blige), Rob risks everything he has worked for to free his imprisoned father (Ejiofor).”

    Rob Peace is written and directed by Ejiofor, based on Jeff Hobbs’s bestselling 2014 biography novel The Short and Tragic Life of Robert Peace. It is executive produced by Blige, Jamin O’Brien, Morgan Earnest, Luke Rodgers, Jeff Skoll, Robert Kessel, Bruce Evans, Faye Stapleton, Ali Jazayeri, and David Gendron. Producers are Antoine Fuqua, Rebecca Hobbs, Jeffrey Soros, Simon Horsman, Andrea Calderwood, Kat Samick, Alex Kurtzman, and Jenny Lumet.
