Reddit users have sounded the alarm: Krispy Kreme donuts are rolling out at Costcos worldwide . On Tuesday, u/sporty_science posted a photo showing a display table piled with long boxes of Krispy Kreme Original Glazed donuts.
“Big uh-oh. Krispy Kreme dozens at Costco ? Lord help me,” they wrote.
“Our Krispy Kreme who art in Costco ,” u/EOP821 wrote, while u/Bokonon45 finished the thought: “Hallowed be thy glaze.”
But it didn’t take long for other users to deduce the deal is actually much better…or worse, depending on your perspective. “It’s 15 donuts, not 12 donuts,” u/Hancock02 clarified. “To be henceforth known as a Costco dozen,” u/Solnse joked.
Many users were terrifically excited at the prospect of buying Krispy Kreme donuts in bulk, but some were unconvinced that it was the best deal they could find. “Twenty bucks for 15 donuts?” u/Reputation_Final queried. “No thanks.”
“It's for room-temperature glazed donuts. You have to warm them up to make them taste decent. I would rather spend $8.99 for a dozen at my local grocery store,” u/chzncna agreed.
“Thanks for pointing out that price,” u/jobeka said. “Just broke the deal for me. I might need donuts, but I don’t need $20 of them. That’s real money when shopping for food.”
However, it appears that the price varies by location. Users reported seeing Krispy Kreme donuts on sale at Southern California, Tennessee, Canadian, and Icelandic locations. Costco did not immediately respond to a request for comment clarifying at which stores the donuts are available.
“They were 15 for $10 at my Costco recently,” u/northernbasil said. “I'm in Canada, so [that’s] $7 USD.”
“It’s totally not a Costco -appropriate price,” u/postmancad asserted. “At the actual Krispy Kreme store a dozen assorted costs me $21.99. So you get three extra doughnuts and save like $2. Laughable.”
A vast majority of users didn’t see the point in paying for “stale” grocery store donuts, which led to an avalanche of warming suggestions from others.
“Ten-second nuke gets them proper for dunking in hot black coffee,” u/jammixxnn suggested. “If you haven't air fried a donut you're missing out,” u/BeerSlayingBeaver added.
It's not the first time this year that Krispy Kreme donuts have been spotted at Costco. TikToks from January and April also spotted the donuts, although the rollout now appears to be more widespread.
While many were planning a trip to their local Costco , some were already predicting a wave of Costco product mash-ups. “Next week, or a day from now,” u/KinkyQuesadilla imagined another user posting, “‘I bought a case of Krispy Kreme donuts, ran a couple of Costco hot dogs through the middle of them, and I got a ton of upvotes and social media likes.’”
Krispy Kreme has been broadening its reach in recent years to compete with Dunkin . Earlier this year, it was announced that McDonald’s will offer fresh Krispy Kreme donuts , available at all American locations by 2026.
