Tiger Woods is set to return to the PGA Tour this week. Beginning with his opening press conference before the season's final major, The Open Championship , Woods addressed several questions regarding his health and preparation for the tournament. But one question stood out among the rest.

Last week, former professional player Colin Montgomerie suggested that Woods looked unhappy and should retire. "What the hell is he doing? He's coming to Troon and he won't enjoy it there, either," Montgomerie stated.

Woods delivered a direct comeback ahead of The Open.

    'I'm Exempt Until I'm 60, Colin's Not'

Woods quickly reminded everyone that he can play in the tournament until he's 60 on his own accord since he's a former champion, something Montgomerie didn't accomplish in his career.

"He's not a past champion, so he's not exempt," Woods added. "So he doesn't get the opportunity to make that decision. I do."

This exchange is just another example of why Tiger Woods is a legend. No fluff, no beating around the bush. Just plain and simple, Tiger leaned into the fact that he's not the average golfer.

"He doesn't get the opportunity to make that decision. I do."

I love this kind of stuff.

Yes, Tiger Woods is a currently different player than golf fans are accustomed to. He knows he has to pick and choose his battles from here as he gets healthy. But he's also not afraid to remind the world of his resume.

Nice try, Colin, but in the end, Tiger got the best of you at Troon yet again. Now, we focus on the remainder of the week. The links are ready to challenge the world's best!
