EBENSBURG, Pa. (WTAJ) — Pennsylvania State representative Frank Burns, D-Cambria, is hosting a free spaghetti lunch for veterans.

The Veterans Appreciation Lunch is scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 24 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Jackson Twp. Fire Hall.

“Honoring our veterans in this way is a long standing tradition for me that I refuse to give up,” Rep. Burns said. “I’ve always respected their service and sacrifice, but the older and wiser I get, the greater my appreciation grows.”

Those who present a valid military ID will receive the spaghetti lunch at no cost. Guests can participate, but are asked to donate $5.

“This event serves a dual purpose, as it puts me face-to-face with scores of veterans, enabling me to hear their concerns, answer their questions, and inform them about state programs and services from which they could benefit,” Burns said.

RSVP to the event by calling Burns’ office at 814-472-8021 by Friday, Aug. 16.
