Dogs are creatures of comfort. They love routines and knowing what comes next. This is exactly why Steve the French Bulldog is having a but of a moment after his TV background changed without notice.

On July 16, 2024, @stevekevinkevinsteve shared the Frenchie's displeasure over the abrupt change on TikTok, and it's a total mood. Take a look!

"Steve really hates when Roku changes our background without permission," the caption says. The brief clip shows the opinionated pup trying to watch his usual Roku background light show which has changed without his permission to Spongebob Squarepants characters floating in bubbles. He absolutely did not approve of this and respectfully requests you change it back right this minute!

"The almost borks are the best," on person wrote, to which Steve's "pawrent" replied, "He's an expert," adding the background is usually a "spooky forrest," which makes total sense why Spongebob just won't cut it.

The drama with this little guy is real. He even loves screaming along to Dad's guitar playing, which is on par for all the rage built up over this whole Roku business.

Do French Bulldogs Bark A Lot?

Maybe Steve wasn't quite so vocal but he didn't hesitate to let that Roku know exactly how he felt about the surprise background. WebMD says typically, Frenchies don't bark a lot unless they have a reason to. The site adds that "they are protective of their homes and families," so "they'll raise the alarm if they think something is wrong."

They may also bark if there's a new or foreign object or person in the house which can make them feel suspicious or even out of pure boredom and they're trying to get your attention. This is true of nearly every dog, so the trick is to teach them not to react. Train them by saying, "quiet," followed with a treat and never yell at them (which sounds to them like barking!).

That sounds reasonable enough, but there are some well known Frenchies with trademark lungs and sass. Though Steve doesn't seem to be very vocal, his personality shines through with those little grunts, so he doesn't need to bark or scream to get his point across. Having a French Bulldog is an adventure. They're full of personality and sass. That's what makes them so great!

That said, we hope Roku got the message and never messes with Steve's favorite background ever again.
