Monmouth County hospital makes NJ Top 5 in US News 2024 rankings

U.S. News & World Report has released its annual rankings for the Best Hospitals of 2024.

Ninety-seven hospitals in the Garden State were evaluated and only eight met U.S. News' high standards to be recognized as Best Regional Hospitals.

The list included facilities that offer a full range of general medical and surgical services, and are rated on two factors such as specialty rankings, and procedure and condition.

Hackensack Meridian Health University Medical Center remains the No. 1 hospital in New Jersey.

One local hospital in Monmouth County, Jersey Shore University Medical Center at Hackensack Meridian Health, ranked in the top five.

Jersey Shore University Medical Center is a general medical and surgical facility, and also a teaching hospital. It's national rankings include No. 1 for adult specialty and No. 4 for pediatric specialties, and regional rankings include No. 4 in New Jersey, No. 1 in New Jersey (Children's) and No. 10 in Mid-Atlantic (Children's). The medical center also rated high performing in four adult specialties, and 11 procedures and conditions, the report stated.
