The drama continues in the YSL Rico case. In the latest update, Fulton County Judge Shukura Ingram has recused herself just days after she was assigned to take over the case against Young Thug and his alleged associates.

You’re probably wondering why the heck she would do that? Ingram revealed that her courthouse deputy had a romantic relationship with a co-defendant in the case, Christian Eppinger. In a letter she noted that it could create an “appearance of impropriety.” She issued an order this Wednesday morning asking that the case be reassigned.

As we previously reported, Ingram was assigned to take on racketeering and gang case after after Judge Ural Glanville was removed.

Why Was Judge Ural Glanville Removed?

Weeks after Glanville was scrutinized for allegedly holding a secret meeting with prosecutors and a key state witness in chambers, superior Court Judge Rachel Krause made the decision to grant the motions filed on behalf of Young Thug, whose real name is Jeffery Williams, and his co-defendant, Deamonte Kendrick, to recuse him.

This came after months defense attorneys for Young Thug and his remaining co-defendants had been making motions for a mistrial, claiming Glanville is biased against them.

Young Thug, whose legal name is Jeffery Lamar Williams, along with over two dozen others, is accused of conspiring to violate Georgia’s anti-racketeering law and is also charged with drug, gun and gang crimes. He has maintained his innocence and plans to continue to fight for his freedom.
