Here's when school starts for Branch County students

BRANCH COUNTY — The first day of school is one month away, Aug. 19, as summer quickly ends, sadly for most students and with a sigh of relief for many parents.

The 2024-25 calendar for the Branch Intermediate School District and member schools Bronson, Coldwater, and Quincy brings students back for nine days before a holiday break.

Here are other key dates:

• Aug. 19 – First day of school
• Aug. 30- Sept. 2 – Labor Day holiday
• Oct. 11 - Teacher Professional Development Day
• Nov. 27-29 – Thanksgiving break
• Dec. 20 – Half day of school
• Dec. 22 - Jan. 3 – Christmas break
• Jan. 20 - M.L. King Day
• Feb. 14 - Half day of school
• Feb. 17 - President's Day
• March 24-28 - Spring break
• April 18 - Good Friday
• May 22 - Last day of classes

"Act of God" or Snow Days will be made up at the end of the year.
