A 28-year-old was recently arrested after allegedly threatening to kill an officer in Nicholls. According to a Nicholls Police Department report, an officer was in the parking lot at the Foodmart on Vann Street Highway on July 31 when Kyle Martin “rode up on a bike.” The officer stated that he conducted a field interview with Martin regarding a storage building at Liberty Storage that had been broken into.

A 30-year-old woman from Fitzgerald has been charged in connection with the death of a four-year-old child. According to officials with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI), agents were contacted on Wednesday, July 24, by the Fitzgerald Police Department to investigate the child's death. The GBI reports that the child was left unsupervised in an apartment and later gained access to a vehicle.
