After entertaining the audience with his sci-fi movie Ayalaan, Sivakarthikeyan is all set to hit the theaters again this year with another action film. The actor’s much-awaited project, Amaran, has been in the news lately. However, its makers kept details about its release under wraps for long. Finally, the film’s release date has been officially announced, and it is just a few months away.

Written and directed by Rajkumar Periasamy, Sai Pallavi has been cast as the female lead. Per rumors, Tamil superstar Kamal Haasan will make a cameo in the film. Bhuvan Arora, Lallu, Rahul Bose, Hanun Bawra, Mir Salman, Ajaey Naga Raaman, Shreekumar, and Gaurav Venkatesh have been cast to play supporting characters.

For the unversed, Amaran is a biographical war film with action and drama. It narrates the professional and personal life story of Ashok Chakra Major Mukund Varadarajan. It is an adaptation of the book series India’s Most Fearless by Shiv Aroor and Rahul Singh.

When will Sivakarthikeyan’s Amaran be released?

Kamal Haasan’s production house, Raaj Kamal Films International, recently confirmed Amaran’s release date. The movie will hit the theaters on October 31, 2024, on the occasion of Diwali this year. The announcement is accompanied by a new poster featuring Sivakarthikeyan wrapped in blood.

Fans have been widely reacting to the new announcement and are seemingly thrilled. While an X (formerly Twitter) user wrote, “Blockbuster loading,” another penned, “Waiting.”

Amaran will be released in multiple languages, including Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi. With its Diwali release, the movie will clash with Ajith’s upcoming film, Vidaamuyarchi. This will mark one of the biggest clashes in Tamil cinema.

Besides the two films, Rohit Shetty’s Singham Again and Kartik Aaryan’s Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 are also releasing around the same date. Throughout the year, Tamil films have been struggling at the box office. However, with the buzz around Sivakarthikeyan’s new project, it is expected to mint millions.
