Jon Gosselin has advice for Alec Baldwin and his new TLC reality show: ‘Don’t do it’

Jon Gosselin issued a warning to Alec Baldwin: Don’t do reality television.

Gosselin, 47, said in an interview with “ Entertainment Tonight” Tuesday that Baldwin, 66, should think twice about starring in the upcoming TLC reality show, “The Baldwins,” about the actor, his wife Hilaria Baldwin, and their seven children.

“I’d say, ‘Don’t do it. Only because you’ve already made it, you’re like an amazing award-winning actor,’ ” Gosselin said.

Gosselin infamously starred in TLC’s “Jon & Kate Plus 8” from 2007 to 2017. The show followed Gosselin, his ex-wife Kate Gosselin, and their eight children ( twins Mady and Cara and sextuplets Alexis, Aaden, Leah, Joel, Hannah and Collin).

“I did it for the money in the beginning ’cause I didn’t know how I was gonna support my family,” Gosselin said about his reality show.

“I sometimes have regrets because they [the kids] didn’t sign a contract, I signed the contract,” he added.

Gosselin continued to voice his concerns over “The Baldwins,” and recalled “the nuclear fallout” that he and his family experienced from their own show.

“I feel like it was more on the network side and being taken advantage of versus the decisions we made because we feel like they forced us into those decisions,” he explained.

Gosselin and Kate, 49, went through a tumultuous divorce and then custody battle while their show was still airing. Currently, Gosselin only has relationships with two of his eight children: Hannah and Collin.

Collin, 20, addressed the family rift on Vice TV’s “Dark Side of the 2000s” that aired last year and accused his mother of abuse , which she denied. His father backed up his claims.

Hannah, who is also estranged from her mother, took part in the ET interview with her dad and offered advice to any parents, like Baldwin, that are getting into reality TV.

“Just make sure your kids are OK and happy,” the 20-year-old said.

“And that’s what they want to do, like, obviously it is their choice,” Hannah added. “I would say, like, look out for your kids in that aspect, in that world. Because it’s a crazy world.”

Baldwin and his wife announced their TLC series in June.

The show will follow the couple and their seven kids: Iliaria Catalina Irena, 21 months; Mar í a Luc í a Victoria, 3; Eduardo Pao Lucas, 3; Romeo Alejandro David, 6; Leonardo Ángel Charles, 7; Rafael Thomas, 8; and Carmen Gabriela, 10.

Ireland Baldwin, 28, who is Alec’s daughter with his ex-wife Kim Basinger, will seemingly not appear in the show.

TLC’s description for “The Baldwins” — set to premiere in 2025 — reads: “Alec and Hilaria Baldwin have been making headlines since they were married nearly 12 years ago. In this TLC follow-doc series, Alec and Hilaria invite viewers into the home they share with their seven growing kids. For the first time, they’re opening up their family lives and bringing everyone in to join in the non-stop love, laughter and drama.”

Last week, The Post confirmed that TLC was shooting content for the reality show during Baldwin’s “Rust” manslaughter trial.

The “30 Rock” star and his family were followed by cameras in Santa Fe, New Mexico, where he was on trial for the October 2021 shooting of Halyna Hutchins , the cinematographer on the set of “Rust.”

“The filming is full speed ahead,” a TLC source said. “The trial will probably be a storyline.”

Two sources told The Post that producers were factoring in the outcome of the trial into their storylines and production.

Baldwin’s trial ended on July 12 when Judge Mary Marlowe Sommer ordered the charges against the “Saturday Night Live” alum be dropped.

She made the stunning decision due to indications that the prosecution withheld crucial ammunition evidence from the defense.

The court also determined that Baldwin could not be recharged in the case — effectively ending the criminal proceedings against him.

Baldwin was accused of firing the gun that killed Hutchins. According to incident reports, Baldwin allegedly picked up a gun that he didn’t realize was loaded with a live round. Police say that he pointed it at Hutchins and fired once, striking her.

Prosecutors accused him of reckless behavior that caused the 42-year-old mother’s death.

Baldwin and his legal team countered that he didn’t know that the gun was loaded .

The trial lasted for three days before the judge threw out the entire case. Baldwin visibly sobbed and his family celebrated when they were told of the shocking ruling.

He issued a statement on Instagram thanking his supporters after the charges were officially dropped.

“To all of you, you will never know how much I appreciate your kindness toward my family,” Baldwin wrote.
