The WNBA will see an enormous boost in media revenue over the next decade as the league is set to receive more than $2 billion in its next media rights deal.

As part of the NBA’s new media rights deal — valued at $75 billion over 11 years — the WNBA will receive $2.2 billion during that time frame, according to a report from The Athletic. At an average of $200 million per season, it will quadruple the $50 million the league receives in its current deal.

The NBA’s board of governors last week approved the deals with NBC, ESPN, and Amazon. Those three networks will also have WNBA packages.

While that increase is already massive, there will be room for even more growth. During the new deal, which begins in 2025, the WNBA expects to sell two other rights, bringing the league’s total to five different packages. Those two packages will bring in another $60 million annually for the WNBA.

Several years from, the league could see those numbers rise once again. Though the next deal is for 11 years, the WNBA has a “measure of protection” that will see it negotiate with its media partners after three years. There, the parties may reprice the deals based on the continued growth of the league.
