“Peter Pan and Wendy” actress embraced a relaxed yet red carpet-appropriate look, opting for a one-shoulder black top and wide-leg jeans. She wore a pair of peek-a-boo black heels, which subtly peeked out from under the hem of her jeans, adding a touch of vintage flair to her modern ensemble.

Heels with oversized and wide-legged pants give a nod to the early 2000s fashion and are making a notable comeback.  The subtle appearance of the heel from under the jeans adds an element of intrigue and surprise to the overall look.

The resurgence of Y2K fashion has been evident both on the streets and on the red carpet. Celebrities like Ice Spice, Blackpink’s Jisoo and Camila Cabello have been gravitating towards styles that evoke nostalgia, seamlessly blending them with contemporary fashion elements. Shahidi’s choice of peek-a-boo heels reflects this trend, showcasing how vintage-inspired styling can elevate a modern outfit.

She showcased her love for vintage style last month by wearing Max Mara chunky heel strappy sandals to the luxury brand’s Resort 2025 show in Venice.

When it comes to picking footwear for the red carpet, Shahidi’s pumps frequently come from high-end brands such as Christian Louboutin, Alexander McQueen, and Dior. Typically opting for neutral tones, these choices reflect Shahidi’s overall wardrobe preference. Occasionally, she opts for metallic styles, like the pair of disco boots she wore for a special screening of “Peter Pan & Wendy” at the South Street Seaport Museum in New York in April.
