Loving shelter dogs — believed to be brothers — need a home. Meet Jif and Skippy

Two loving shelter dogs are affectionately called the “peanut butter twins” — and need a new home.

The look-alike pups, believed to be brothers , landed at the North Carolina shelter after they were found as strays.

“Meet Jif and Skippy,” Orange County Animal Services wrote July 16 on Facebook. “Two spirited little love bugs that won’t stick to the roof of your mouth, but will stick to your heart.”

Though the shelter doesn’t know much about the dogs’ background, it said Jif and Skippy were rescued together in late June. The two have become known for their silly antics, the shelter wrote online and told McClatchy News via email.

“Happy energy AND lots of cuddling make these two so much fun to walk and snuggle,” the shelter wrote. “They both love to be pet and enjoy walking outside on a leash (and getting tangled up with each other).”

Jif and Skippy are also described as “adventurous” and “happy” dogs. The mixed-breed pups are about 2 years old and weigh roughly 11 pounds.

“They are energetic, hilarious, and love attention,” the shelter wrote. “They make a great team and would love to be adopted together if possible. We are not requiring that they be adopted together because they clearly love people and we think they will each thrive in a good home as long as they get attention and love from their humans.”

As of July 17, the two pups were still in need of a new owner. More details about the shelter’s adoption process, including its reduced adoption fees, can be found at orangecountync.gov/2997/animal-services .

Orange County Animal Services is in Chapel Hill, a roughly 30-mile drive northwest from Raleigh.
