Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) told comedian and podcaster Russell Brand she’s said things in the past that were perhaps “too intense.”

During a conversation with Greene amid the Republican National Convention, Brand asked the congresswoman if she’s ever said anything and thought, “I shouldn’t have said that actually, that was a bit too intense,” and Greene admitted that she had.

    “Yeah, of course,” she said.

Greene referenced one specific incident during a May House Oversight Committee hearing in which Greene and Rep. Jasmine Crockett (R-TX) exchanged personal insults with Greene referencing Crockett’s “fake eyelashes” and Crockett accusing Greene of having a “bleach blonde, bad built, butch body.”

“Nobody saw the 45 minutes leading up to that. People only saw those clips, like, just within those couple of minutes where we’re saying just outright nasty things to each other, but no one saw what led to that tipping point,” Greene said about the hearing.

The controversial lawmaker has said plenty that’s earned blowback in the past, and she’s known for getting into fiery exchanges with critics. At the Republican National Convention this week, Greene let loose on a reporter, telling her she and others in the media are the “cause” of the attempted assassination of Donald Trump .

According to Greene, she feels she only “breaks” when she’s pushed with personal insults and insults against the former president.

“It’s usually because I’m pushed and pushed and I’m listening to them call Donald Trump our orange messiah or I’m listening to them personally attack me or they’re holding up my tweets or social media posts on X and they’re reframing my words and lying about what I said and I’m having to sit there and take it and take it and take it and, yes, in those moments I have lost my patience and just charged the hill and said things maybe in a way I shouldn’t have,” she said. “But, you know, I’m human, I’m not without mistakes.”
