New York Giants Land Miserable Prediction For 2024

The New York Giants have experienced some very high highs and very low lows over the last two seasons. In Year 1 of the Joe Schoen and Brian Daboll era, the team made the postseason and won a playoff game against the Minnesota Vikings.

In Year 2, everything came crashing back to Earth. After winning nine games in 2022, they won only six in 2023 and weren’t very competitive most weeks out.

That led to some major changes during the 2024 NFL offseason. The coaching staff was shuffled, with defensive coordinator Wink Martindale resigning and offensive line coach Bobby Johnson getting relieved of his duties.

Roster-wise, the team did make some major additions as well. In free agency, they addressed their offensive line woes, signing Jermaine Eluemenor and Jon Runyan Jr.

Looking to rebuild in the trenches, the team also acquired star pass rusher Brian Burns from the Carolina Panthers. Combined with Kayvon Thibodeaux, the New York Giants now have two star-studded edge rushers to lead the defense.

In the 2024 NFL Draft, the team selected LSU star wide receiver Malik Nabers. There was some serious talent added to the roster, but some people aren’t expecting many improvements on the field.

In fact, some are expecting another step backward. One of the people who foresee the New York Giants regressing more is Mauricio Rodriguez, a contributor to A to Z Sports .

He has predicted that the New York Giants are going to struggle mightily during the 2024 season. A 4-13 record is what Rodriguez believes is on tap for Big Blue.

“Question marks exist at quarterback, whether it’s Daniel Jones or Drew Lock starting in Week 1 as Jones navigates an injury that kept him from playing the second half of the 2023 season.

Unless they prove the world wrong, this might be the year that positions the Giants in a spot to be thinking quarterback in the next NFL Draft,” Rodriguez wrote.

Finding a long-term answer at the quarterback position is imperative for the New York Giants. Daniel Jones has not proven to be the guy capable of getting this team to the next level.

It would be interesting to see what management did if the team wen 4-13. Would Daboll and Schoen get another season together knowing the disastrous situation they took over?

Head coaches rarely survive two seasons with that lack of success on the field. But, this is a team that is not close to contending. Allowing Daboll and Schoen to build some continuity is the only way for the New York Giants to get back on track.
