MERCER COUNTY, WV (WVNS) — A DUI Checkpoint will be held in Mercer County by the Princeton Detachment of the West Virginia State Police.

The checkpoint will be held from 6:00 p.m. until midnight on Friday, July 19, 2024, and will be located along WV Route 104, Oakvale Road in front of the Church of God in Mercer County.

Planned power outage to affect parts of Summers and Monroe counties

The public will be able to use U.S. Route 460 and WV Route 20 as alternate routes.

The goal of the DUI Checkpoints is to discourage people from driving while under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol, as well as informing the public about the risks of driving while impaired.
