    NJ weather: Severe thunderstorm watch in effect for Monmouth and Ocean counties

    A severe thunderstorm watch for Monmouth and Ocean counties is in effect until 8 p.m. Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service in Mount Holly.

    Showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 5 p.m. and before midnight, are expected at the Shore. Some of the storms could be severe and produce heavy rainfall, according to the federal agency.

    The watch also includes Burlington, Camden, Gloucester, Hunterdon, Mercer, Middlesex, Morris, Somerset, Sussex and Warren counties.
