Wisconsin delegate's service dog Lambeau is taking hundreds of selfies a day at RNC

Dogs have stolen the show at the Republican National Convention — including Lambeau, a 7-year-old purebred English Labrador retriever service dog.

"I had no expectations of anything. I didn't know what to expect. It's the first time to be at a convention, and I am stunned. I was worried about, 'How do I keep a low profile?' And everyone wants to talk to him and meet him," his human, Wisconsin delegate Terrence Wall, said.

Lambeau has gotten his photo taken at least 250 to 300 times a day, Wall said. He met someone from California at Convention Fest whose her daughter saw Lambeau on TV and said "you gotta track him down and get a selfie."

"I'm just his agent," Wall joked. Wall is a former U.S. Senate candidate and a real-estate developer.

So, did Lambeau meet Babydog, who appeared on stage with her owner West Virginia Gov. Jim Justice during his speech Tuesday night?

"By total coincidence, I stepped out with him to go to the bathroom" when Babydog came out, Wall said. "Which is probably good, because if he saw (her), he would probably want to go greet her and lick her and say hi."

Lambeau has a red-and-black harness that says "No. 1 Republican service dog." The name Lambeau, obviously, is an ode to the Green Bay Packers — Wall's wife is from Green Bay.

"We thought it was so clever, until we found out lots of people have dogs named Lambeau," Wall said.

Wall said his delegate experience has been "fantastic" and that everything has been well-organized.

"I think Milwaukee and the Republican party really pulled it off," he said. "For us, as a delegate, it's just running so smoothly. I'm sure they're paddling under the water like crazy, but we don't see it."
