Star Wars: The Acolyte Episode 8 Features Major Cameo

The season finale of Star Wars series The Acolyte features a major cameo.

Episode 8, which aired on Disney+ July 16, contains a scene involving an unexpected character from Star Wars history. And safe to say, few knew they were going to show up. That’s because the show is set more than a century before the first Star Wars movie in the timeline, Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace .

The specific era is called the High Republic, a time when the Jedi are thriving and the Sith are in hiding. This means most of the characters familiar to audiences aren’t even alive at this point - with some exceptions. So, who makes the cameo? Spoilers follow below for The Acolyte season one, episode eight.

The Acolyte SPOILERS

The cameo in The Acolyte is from none other than Yoda, very much alive at this point and at the top of his game. The diminutive fellow is a verified Jedi Master, and member of the Jedi on Coruscant.

In the episode, we see Yoda meeting with Vern on Coruscant to learn about the events that took the lives of several Jedi. We only glimpse him from the back, but it’s clearly the Yoda we know and love.

While the credits rolled soon after, it’s a good sign we’ll see him in The Acolyte season 2, if it’s ever greenlit. The good news is critics love The Acolyte but audiences hate it , according to Rotten Tomatoes scores.
