    Johnson County judge sentences KCK man to over 16 years in drug case

    KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Johnson County, Kansas District Attorney Steve Howe announced on July 17 that the Honorable Thomas Kelly Ryan has sentenced Diego Alessandro Gomez-Rodriguez.

    Gomez-Rodriguez, 22, of KCK, was sentenced on two counts of distribution of drugs (fentanyl), 101 months for count one and 92 months for count 2.

    According to court documents, the sentencing comes after an investigation revealed that Gomez-Rodriguez possessed over 1600 fentanyl pills.

    “We will continue to work hard with our law enforcement partners to hold accountable these individuals who are dealing death in our community,” said DA Steve Howe.

    Assistant District Attorneys Melinda Parrish and Lauren M. Young prosecuted this case. Assistance was provided by the Johnson County Sherriff’s Office Northeast Kansas Multijurisdictional Drug Task Force .
