We've said it before and we'll say it again: necessity may be the mother of all invention but moms have the best ideas when it comes to creating cool things that will keep their kids entertained for hours.
And that's exactly what this mom's IKEA upcycle is going to do. Because, not only did she make her daughter a fun little sandbox to play with, but she also customized it so that it was completely special (and unique) to her little girl.
Man, someone is really trying to win the mother of the year award here! Don't worry mama, we think you've got it in the bag!
Summer is a great time to get the kids outside and enjoying the fresh air, which is why creating something her daughter could take with her into the yard was at the top of the priority list of the woman featured in the @cricut_uk video.
She spent a lot of time putting together the most darling decals for her little girl, keeping everything focused on a cute pink beach theme. Not only did this turn out better than we could've expected, but the really cool part about this is that it can all be neatly packed up together when her daughter is done playing with it, making cleanup a breeze!
We are absolutely suckers for anything that allows us to use our Cricut for our kids. Not only does it make labeling the items that we send them off to school with the most easiest thing we've ever done, but it also allows us to create some really cool stuff!
But, you don't need a Cricut to create! You can can make something your kids will enjoy using pretty much whatever you have on hand.
Mom Makes DIY Water Wall
Just take a look at how this mom is helping her kids beat the heat with a customized water wall. We absolutely adore this plan because it doesn't just give your kids something to do that doesn't involve screens , but it helps them come up with the a good way to cool down while they're getting some fresh air.
And, when it's built by a smart mom who knows her stuff, she'll be able to add all the extra fun features she knows her kids like, leaving those boring ones nobody wants to play with off the DIY toy!
Mom Makes IKEA Sandbox for Daughter
We're adding this sandbox to our to-do list for summer... well, as soon as this heat wave is over, that is.
Now all we need to do is run to IKEA to get our supplies and fire up that Cricut so we can get to personalizing!
