UAE was taken by surprise when a Dubai princess seemingly ended her marriage i n a harsh Instagram post, just two months after the birth of their first child.
Sheikha Mahra Bint Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the 30-year-old daughter of Dubai's ruler His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, reportedly used her official Instagram account to announce her impending divorce from her husband, Sheikh Mana bin Mohammed bin Rashid bin Mana Al Maktoum.
The message stated: "Dear Husband, since you are preoccupied with others, I hereby declare our divorce. I divorce you, I divorce you, and I divorce you." She signed off the message with a, "Take care. Your ex-wife."

The July 16 Instagram post comes as the two have appeared to have unfollowed each other on social media. Any previous post of the couple and the other have been removed from their accounts. Sheikha Mahra and Sheikh Mana married in May 2023 and welcomed their new baby girl in May of this year. Mohammed has not responded to Sheikha Mahra's Instagram, neither in the comment section or on his own Instagram. His last post was April 10 of him shaking hands with his father-in-law, Prime Minister as well as Dubai's Vice President, as they celebrated Eid.
There also has not been an official statement from the royal family, House of Maktoum, about this nor announcing their divorce. There were a lot of supportive under princess' Instagram post that implied she was cheated on by her supposed soon-to-be ex husband. One Instagram user wrote: "When a strong woman knows her worth. mashallah." A second user said: "I find it empowering when a woman recognizes her worth and confidently stands her ground." Another said: "This is not the beginning of a new chapter in your life. This is the beginning of a new book. Congratulations." A fourth user said: "Wishing you peace, strength and happiness ahead!!"
Some comments also speculated that Sheikha Mahra's account might have been hacked but as of right now, there's no indication of that nor a official statement as of yet from any party. Sheikha Mahra is of one of 26 children of the Dubai ruler. She is half Greek from her mother's, Zoe Grigorakos, side. She also has degrees in International Relations from an undisclosed United Kingdom's University and from the Mohammed bin Rashid Government Administration.
Sheikh Mana, on the other hand, is involved in many businesses such as GCI Real Estate Development Company, MM Group of Companies, Dubai Tech, and AlBarada Trading. In October 2023, he graduated from MBRSG's Accelerated Leadership On-boarding Program.
