    Operation Back to School provides financial aid for veterans

    TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Operation Back to School returns for third year with financial aid for Indiana veterans.

    This program provides financial assistance to Indiana veteran families experiencing financial difficulty. It offers $500 per qualified dependent for back-to-school supplies and other school-related expenses.

    Those wanting to apply must provide multiple forms of documentation proving your income.

    Vigo County Veteran Service Officer Vickie Albright said this program can boosts these kids’ self-esteem going into the school year.

    “You have other kids in school that come in with new clothes and everything,” she said. “This gives those children a chance to come in to school with new clothes, backpacks, and everything.”
