JACKSON County, Texas - If you live in Jackson or Matagorda counties and have received damage from Hurricane Beryl, you may now apply for disaster assistance from FEMA.

La Tanga Hopes, public affairs specialist with FEMA, emphasizes that anyone in these areas who suffered damage from Beryl should apply. Hopes mentions that FEMA is still addressing the severe weather events that occurred from April through early June in these same areas. Therefore, if you sustained damage from either of these severe weather events, you still have time to apply for assistance.

“I would like to remind everyone that if you have not yet applied for damages caused by straight-line winds, flooding, or tornadic activity between April 16th and June 5th, you have 30 days to submit your application. It’s important to act quickly,” said Hopes.

Despite Jackson and Matagorda counties lacking physical FEMA offices, you can still apply by visiting the FEMA website here or by calling 1-800-621-3362.
