    Thousands without power in Connecticut as storms roll through

    NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — Thunderstorms Wednesday afternoon have knocked out power to thousands of people in Connecticut.

    Outages are mostly clustered in the western part of the state.

    As of about 11:30 p.m., there were more than 5,500 United Illuminating customers without power, according to the utility company.

    Eversource reported about 2,800 outages.

    The entire state remains under a thunderstorm watch until 11:15 p.m.
