KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Johnson County Election Office announced today that they have transmitted around 7,600 mail ballots for the 2024 primary election on August 6.
The JOCO Election Office says those who requested a mail ballot or those who are on the permanent advance voting list due to an illness or injury are likely to receive their mail ballot within five postal delivery days.

Voters using a mail ballot have a variety of options to return their mail ballot. These voters can return the ballot by regular mail, at ballot drop boxes, on advance voting sites or at election day polling places.
Ballot drop boxes are open for use 24/7 until they close at 7 p.m. on election day, which is Tuesday, August 6. In-person advance voting begins on Saturday, July 20. For more information about drop box locations and advance voting locations, click here .
Voters should mail their advance ballots no later than one week before election day. The ballots need to be postmarked by election day and must be received by Friday, August 9 for them to count. Voters can track the status of their mail ballot here .
The last day to apply for a mail-in ballot is Tuesday, July 30. Those who wish to apply can print an application here , or request an application by calling (913) 715-6800 or emailing votebymail@jocogov.org .
