Isabella Strahan shared a new health update with fans on Wednesday, July 17, just a few weeks after announcing that she had finished chemotherapy .

The 19-year-old, who was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor last fall, was excited to share that her doctors had removed her chemotherapy port. She provided details about the surgery and the anticipated recovery process in a video that she posted to her YouTube channel.

The video began with the daughter of Good Morning America co-anchor Michael Strahan traveling by car to meet with her doctors at Duke Children's Hospital & Health Center in Durham, N.C. Her mom, Jean Muggli , was with her.

Once in the hospital, Isabella showed off the Inside Out 2 decorations on the wall of her pre-surgery room before explaining that she had already met with the surgeon and was “really excited.”

Isabella’s vlog then showed a view of her hospital bed being wheeled down a hallway for the surgery, with Isabella all smiles as hospital personnel waved pom poms and blew bubbles, cheering their patient along all the way.

The next clip showed Isabella assessing her neck after the surgery was over. “There’s no more,” she said in amazement, her face erupting in a huge smile as she felt the lack of the object. Though she said the spot where the port had been was “very sore,” she still gave the overall procedure a “10 out of 10.” She promised more updates to follow as her health journey continues.

Now that the port is out, Isabella explained that the surgery recovery process is expected to involve about four weeks, during which she is not supposed to get in the water. “Not too bad,” she decided.

The model was first diagnosed with medulloblastoma in October 2023, just weeks after beginning her freshman year of college. She underwent brain surgery and radiation before beginning chemotherapy, which she completed in early June. She celebrated the end of her treatment by ringing the chemo bell three times, a victorious moment that she shared with fans on social media.
