Borealis Philanthropy has announced grants totaling $1.2 million in support of 31 BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, people of color) trans-led organizations. Awarded through the philanthropic intermediary’s Fund for Trans Generations (FTG), the grants will provide general operating support to organizations focused on issues ranging from safe housing solutions to advocating for disability justice and building supportive networks for LGBTQ+ youth. Now in its eighth year of grantmaking, FTG is guided by an advisory committee of trans and gender nonconforming movement leaders whose expertise spans housing accessibility, policy and advocacy, mutual aid, harm reduction, reproductive justice, healing justice, and workforce development.
