Stephen Curry made it clear that he is having fun playing with arguably the greatest collection of talent he's had next to him on Team USA. Curry was asked by Fadeaway World to expound on playing alongside LeBron James , but the 2022 Finals MVP showered praise on all his teammates.

"It's a lot of fun. Like all the guys on our team, everyone is here for a reason, trying to win, trying to bring our best selves to what we're doing. The fact that we're such high IQ guys who try to make the right play, and utilize each other's strengths. We know there's a challenge ahead when it comes to winning 6 games in the Olympics, but it's easy for these guys together because we all have different strengths and weaknesses, but we're all very experienced and understand what it's like to play basketball at a high level. So, it's been fun to try and put that together."

Curry is representing Team USA at the Olympics for the first time in his career, so he's never really played with such an elite collection of talent before. Players like LeBron, Kevin Durant , and Anthony Davis had experience playing on the stacked 2012 Olympic Team, while players like Devin Booker , Jayson Tatum , and Bam Adebayo made it to the 2020 Olympics.

Curry is joining youngsters like Anthony Edwards and Tyrese Haliburton as a first-time Olympian, with a Gold medal as the only major accomplishment eluding him in his career. With the talent around him, Curry will be confident in their ability to not only win the Gold at Paris 2024 but also have tons of fun while doing so.

Stephen Curry Admitted He And LeBron James Had Tension For Years

Steph Curry and LeBron James were bitter rivals for the better part of a decade after their four consecutive Finals battles from 2015 to 2018. Those matchups ended up being historic after James beat Curry's Warriors with a never-seen-before 3-1 comeback in the 2016 Finals before Kevin Durant joined Curry as they easily beat LeBron for titles in 2017 and 2018.

Curry admitted that over that span, the pair had a healthy amount of resentment due to them having to go through each other to achieve their goals.

"It was like a healthy resentment of somebody that’s standing in your way. But through it all, like there’s obviously the utmost respect for who he is as a person and a player and like how good he is and the challenge of trying to beat him and trying to solve that problem every year."

Their animosity soon turned into respect , and we've seen Curry and James be cordial with each other since LeBron moved to the West in 2018 and both players stopped being guaranteed Finals or Playoff opponents every year.

Curry had a 3-2 lead over James in all-time Playoff series matchups, winning the 2015, 2017, and 2018 NBA Championships at LeBron's expense in the Finals. LeBron won the 2016 Finals with arguably the most famous comeback in NBA history before becoming the first team to beat the Warriors in a Western Conference Playoff matchup in over a decade in 2023.
