A boring survey resulted in a decision to black top River Road, according to the Emery Town Board meeting minutes of June 20.

The project will start with grinding and graveling the first 1/4 mile from County D. The first 1/2 mile will be black topped along with a 3 1/2 inch lift. The project will be put out for bids.

Emery will bill the U.S. Forest Service for $4,500 in cash for work completed under the storm damage agreement. The Forest Service also donated $12,650 in culverts and gravel. Ongoing storm damage work to reopen open roads will include federal gravel over the washouts.

The board discussed preparations for a possible cemetery expansion by clear cutting to the east and a small cut area south to the creek. The project would also be put out for bids.

The town submitted a Bipartisan Infrastructure Law grant application on June 3 totaling $1,215,000.

The board approved the liquor license and cigarette license totaling $55 in fees for one year for Fusak’s Tavern.

The board discussed the possibility of accepting tires at the town recycling center. The board will research the matter.

In the public works report, a passenger window is being ordered for the 2016 town dump truck after it shattered. Brookland Road, and Elk Road are both in need of gravel. A second employee is being trained to run the grader.

In the clerk’s report, Reggie Distin said that $15,124.61 received as the second distribution of ARPA funds from checking to savings.

Prior to the open meeting the board went into executive session to discuss a Freedom Of Information Act request for 2021 Gross wages of all employees and elected officials; a Wisconsin Department of Revenue notice that 42 acres were withdrawn from and Managed Forest Land and a transfer of 40 acres; and a road project agreement between with the USDA Forest Service for 2022 flood event repairs.
