Editor's note: TCPalm's editorial board recorded its interview with Indian River County sheriff's candidates. The video above is the full, unedited interview. The board plans to make a candidate recommendation on July 28.

Three veteran Indian River County law enforcement officers are running for Indian River County sheriff in the Republican primary Aug. 20. The winner will face a write-in candidate whose name will not appear on the November ballot. No Democrats or independents are in the race.

    The candidates are:

Eric Flowers, the incumbent, elected in 2020.

Milo Thornton, who resigned as a sheriff's captain to run for the seat.

    Keith Touchberry, Fellsmere police chief.

You can learn more about the sheriff's and other races, from reading candidate questionnaires and TCPalm editorial board recommendations to watching videos of candidate interviews past and present, here.
