Arsenal's hopes of signing Euro 2024 star Nico Williams could be boosted by the sale of one of Mikel Arteta's current players . The Spanish sensation stole the show in Germany this summer and has been linked with a host of clubs.

It is no secret that clubs from across Europe have been keeping an eye on him with Liverpool , Barcelona and Chelsea all interested. Williams has a release clause worth $63m (£49m/€58m) at Athletic Bilbao.

There is a belief back at his boyhood club that Williams, who has been enigmatic in his left forward role, will remain loyal to his roots. Yet, in the aftermath of the Euro celebrations and the flurry of speculation, the young star put interested parties on alert.

"It is always good to hear things from the outside, it means I'm doing my job well. Every kid dreams of catching the eye of big clubs."

Arsenal's summer transfer plans are hitting top gear, with Barcelona keeping a wary eye on the Gunners' next moves. Barca reportedly "fear" Arsenal in the chase for the sought-after 22 year old talent looming on the horizon.

To balance the books in line with Financial Fair Play and Profit and Sustainability rules, Arsenal might have to consider player sales. They could boost their war chest by cashing in on assets that would yield "pure profit".

It seems Reiss Nelson could be one of those making a switch from north London to gain more playing time. According to TeamTalk, the midfielder has 'agreed' terms over a move to West Ham.

His opportunities at the Emirates under Mikel Arteta have been increasingly limited, prompting Arsenal to set a valuation of around $26m (£20m/€24m). With interest in wrapping up the deal swiftly, before Arsenal jet off for their pre-season US tour, the clock is ticking for the Hammers to act swiftly. Arsenal are scheduled to leave for the tour this Sunday, drawing a tight deadline for negotiations.

Liverpool.com says: The Reds have been linked with Williams in recent weeks and there is no doubt he would be an excellent addition. But any deal is only going to happen if one of Liverpool's current attackers is sold. That could pave the way for Arsenal to make a move but at this stage it appears he is likely to stay in Spain.
