    Bucks County is home to a handful of the wealthiest municipalities in the state, according to census data on median household income.

    The median salary in Pennsylvania is $71,198, a benchmark almost every township and borough in Bucks County passes.

    Towns along the Delaware River make up some of the wealthiest in Bucks County, but the top 20 wealthiest communities can be found in rural and urban parts of the county.

    Here's a breakdown of the 20 wealthiest towns in Bucks County based on median income, including the percentage of households making over $200,000 a year.

    Bucks County's wealthiest towns

    1. Upper Makefield: at a median income of $223,990, about 56.3% of households make over $200,000 a year

    2. Buckingham: at a median income of $181,855, about 46.0% of households make over $200,000 a year

    3. Solebury: at a median income of $180,519, about 43.6% of households make over $200,000 a year

    4. Lower Makefield: at a median income of $168,540, about 41.8% of households make over $200,000 a year

    5: Warwick : at a median income of $156,146, about 34.1% of households make over $200,000 a year

    6: Wrightstown at a median income of $149,080, about 33.9% of households make over $200,000 a year

    7: Newtown Borough: at a median income of $145,893, about 33.1% of households make over $200,000 a year

    8: Ivyland: at a median income of $145,750, about 25.8% of households make over $200,000 a year

    9: Doylestown Township: at a median income of $143,750, about 35.1% of households make over $200,000 a year

    10: Northampton: at a median income of $143,607, about 31.4% of households make over $200,000 a year
