Best fried chicken in the US? NC restaurant chain makes USA Today’s top 10 list

North Carolina’s Bojangles isn’t just one of the most popular fast food joints in the South. According to a new report, it’s also among the best in the country.

USA Today released a list of the top 10 best fast food restaurants serving the “most outstanding” fried chicken across the U.S.

Of all the delicious drive-thru destinations with wings, tenders, nuggets and sandwiches — Bojangles ranked among the best of the best by readers.

“This chicken and biscuit chain gets kudos for speedy service, buttery biscuits, interesting sides like sausage-laden dirty rice, and made-from-scratch Southern fried chicken,” the report says. “You can order Bojangles’ beloved fried chicken on a sandwich, on a biscuit, or in a dinner or family meal.”

The beloved North Carolina-based fast food chain has been serving its classic chicken, biscuits and tea for nearly 50 years after the first restaurant opened its doors in Charlotte in 1977. Since then, Bojangles has opened more than 800 locations across 17 states. (Soon, it’ll be “Bo Time” on the West Coast too! )
