STEVENS POINT – Travelers on Portage County HH east of Portage County R/Brilowski Road will need to seek alternate routes as about a half mile of the road will close Monday, July 22.

The closure is expected to last three weeks and only effects a short section of road about a quarter mile east of Portage County R/Brilowski Road, Lucas Meddaugh, Portage County highway engineer, said in a news release.

Eastbound drivers on Portage County HH should take Portage County R/Brilowski Road south to Portage County B, then travel east to Portage County J, which will connect back to Portage County HH. Westbound travelers should take Portage County J to Portage County B to Portage County R/Brilowski Road to return to Portage County HH.

The city of Stevens Point will be constructing Badger Road to connect the east end of EM Copps Drive to Portage County HH. The new road is in East Park Commerce Center, which lies within Tax Incremental Finance District 9.

Updates and information on the project can be found on the Portage County Highway Department website and the City of Stevens Point Road Construction website.
