There’s a cosmic surprise on the horizon this month: the second full moon in Capricorn of the year! This month's full moon in Capricorn on July 21, 2024 at 6:16 a.m. EDT will circle us back to any themes or storylines that began to unfold during last month’s full moon—and push us to work toward our dreams.

July's full moon in Capricorn—also known as the Buck full moon—occurs in the third and final decan of Capricorn. (Each section of the zodiac is divided into three parts called decans, each with different themes and a different tarot card associated with each section.) This decan is represented by the Four of Pentacles; topics highlighted under this full moon may include money, power, scarcity, and responsibility regarding your resources.

Since this full moon is also sitting at the final degree of Capricorn (aka the “anaretic degree”), feelings and events might feel more tense during this lunation. However, this placement also means that something you’ve been working toward may begin to take shape in a sustainable way. Perhaps you reach a goal, or maybe you’re ready to release a dream that no longer feels aligned.

Four other major planetary events are happening the same day as the full moon in Capricorn—making this a very intense day (astrologically speaking).

Capricorn also governs over tradition and stability, so you may find yourself reflecting on which parts of history could use a good pruning. How are the structures and systems which we exist in built, and who do they benefit? Full moons are about embracing change and letting go, making this a powerful time to renovate, revolutionize, and strive to rebuild a world we all deserve.

When is the next full moon in Capricorn?

The full moon in Capricorn perfects at 6:16 a.m. EDT on July 21. This will bring you back to a story that began to unfold on June 21, when we had the first full moon in Capricorn this year.

What is the astrological meaning of a full moon?

When a full moon occurs, the sun and the moon are on opposite sides of the Earth. They also sit in opposite zodiac signs. The moon appears at its brightest, which is why astrologers associate this part of the moon’s cycle with illuminating topics or pieces of information that were previously obscured.

A full moon also marks the halfway point of the monthly lunar cycle, which is why, in astrology, it symbolizes a turning point, moment of culmination or celebration, or point of release and letting go. Whereas a new moon is a time to set new intentions, a full moon is typically associated with those intentions materializing or coming to light.

What can you expect from the July 2024 full moon in Capricorn?

Four other major planetary events are taking place on the same day as the full moon in Capricorn in July 2024, making this a very intense day astrologically.

First, the full moon will meet with Neptune in Pisces, adding an element of whimsy, compassion, and healing to the air. This energy is great for heartfelt conversations, deepening relationships, and nurturing others or yourself.

You’ll want to soak up that soothing energy as much as possible, because the moon will also form a conjunction with Pluto in Aquarius, stirring up your fears, insecurities, and triggers. This energy will be hard to ignore. Feelings of jealousy, envy, projection, and obsessive thoughts can permeate your mind. This isn’t the time to push through your pain or give in to catastrophic thinking. Instead, see this as an opportunity to let go and heal. If you find yourself moving through intense emotions, prioritize your nervous system and what your body is asking of you in the moment (like resting or canceling plans).

Fortunately, on the same day, the sun will also mingle with Neptune. Venus and Jupiter, two of the luckiest planets in the sky, will also connect. Both of these interplanetary meet-ups help you integrate wisdom, open your mind, and feel your feelings. Venus and Jupiter in particular inspire solutions, bring optimistic news, and add a celebratory and social energy to the day. It’s as if, after a thunderstorm, you finally start to see the sun emerge through the clouds.

Your words can be transformative today. Conversations may leave you feeling forever changed or inspired.

Also on the same day (we told you it’s busy!), Mercury in Leo will ram into Uranus in Taurus, which can send a jolt to your nervous system or deliver surprises. Communication will especially feel erratic and unpredictable. For some, this may mean discussions feel unsettling but for others, you may experience a breakthrough. One thing’s for sure: Uranus is unpredictable, so expect a bit of the unexpected throughout your day. And keep in mind that people will be more reactive than normal.

Finally, Mars in Gemini will mingle with Pluto in Aquarius, which can help you take intuitive action with precision. You’re able to access immense willpower to make progress on some of your goals. Since these two power planets are meeting in air signs, your words can be transformative today. Conversations may leave you feeling forever changed or inspired.

To get a better idea of how the full moon in Capricorn’s final act will affect you, read on for your sun, moon, and rising signs. Then, pick up a unique self-care practice to help you move through this lunation with a greater sense of ease and balance.

What will the July 2024 full moon in Capricorn bring for every zodiac sign?

    Aries

You’re meant to take up space, Aries. The full moon lands in your 10th house of reputation, public life, milestones, and career. You might achieve a goal or receive some long overdue recognition under these moonbeams but, at the same time, it can kick up feelings of imposter syndrome. Are you worthy of these accolades? The short answer is yes. You may also experience a shift at work, decide to leave a job, or share some of your vulnerable side in a public way.

Your full moon self-care practice: Celebrate yourself and your recent accomplishments. Taking up space doesn't have to feel cringe, especially when you deserve a little extra attention and acknowledgement for how hard you’ve worked.

    Taurus

Your mind is blown, Taurus. The full moon illuminates your ninth house of perspective, travel, wisdom, and learning. An important conversation might reach a turning point and information that’s revealed can feel transformative, triggering, or even cathartic. You may feel ready to share more intimate details of your life with someone, or learn a piece of information that helps you see a situation from someone else’s perspective. Traveling around this time can also feel inspiring and life-changing.

Your full moon self-care practice: Write a script out that details your future life. Get granular and focus on not only what you’re doing, but who is with you and what’s going on with your different senses. Record this vision in a voice memo and listen to it before bed to support the manifestation process.

    Gemini

Impermanence is in the air, Gemini, and it isn’t for the faint of heart. The full moon activates your eighth house of shared resources, vulnerability, fears, and your psyche. You may find yourself obsessively thinking about your fears or past events that trigger guilt or shame. Be curious about the feelings that arise, rather than repressing or judging them. This is a powerful time to release the past. Practically speaking, you may also reach a turning point in your finances, or need to have a heart-to-heart with a lover about financial expectations.

Your full moon self-care practice: If you’re able to, set up a monthly donation to a cause you believe in (such as a local food bank, reparations, mutual aid fund, etc.). Giving back can help remind you of what’s most important in life—how we show up for each other during good and bad times.

    Cancer

    https://img.particlenews.com/image.php?url=4exZ4G_0uVLUW3t00
    Photo: W+G Creative

Relationships ebb and flow, Cancer, and this is one of those times. The full moon lands in your seventh house of one-on-one relationships and contracts. Maybe it’s time to address unspoken resentment or an issue you’ve avoided. For some, this may mean taking the next step with a lover or choosing to leave a partnership behind. This can also mark a moment of culmination for any collaborative efforts you’ve been working on or bring new, transformative opportunities your way.

Your full moon self-care practice: Plan a date night with someone you love, whether it’s a best friend, roommate or romantic partner. If you feel safe enough, share some of the vulnerable feelings you’ve been keeping to yourself. Ask for support, if needed.

    Leo

The structure of your everyday life, Leo, is transforming! The full moon illuminates your sixth house of daily habits, routine, responsibilities, and well-being. You’re even more aware of which tiny habits are making it possible to reach your goals—and which ones have overstayed their welcome. You might reach a turning point in a major project, or maybe you’re wrapping up a cycle of carrying extra responsibilities. Maintaining your boundaries and protecting your free time will be key for nurturing your physical, mental, and emotional well-being.

Your full moon self-care practice: Pick a habit you want to integrate into your daily life, but have struggled to commit to. Set a timer for three minutes each day for two weeks and do that behavior. Gradually increase the timer to five minutes, 10 minutes, and eventually that habit will be more effortless and feel routine.

    Virgo

    https://img.particlenews.com/image.php?url=2c2iiR_0uVLUW3t00
    Photo: W+G Creative

Your relationship with pleasure is evolving, Virgo! The full moon moves through your fifth house of sex, romance, creativity, leisure, and hobbies. Who you’re attracted to in your romantic relationships, or what you’re drawn to in your free time, might undergo a period of transformation. Maybe this means exploring your sexuality, or letting go of old hobbies that don’t light you up in the way they once did. You may also need to call out any toxic patterns that you've ignored in your friendships or with lovers today, too. This energy can feel a bit triggering, but will leave you feeling more empowered once you speak your truth.

Your full moon self-care practice: Is there a hobby you’ve always wanted to try, but felt too fearful of failing to even give it a go? Sign up for a class and dive in! Embrace a beginner’s mindset and soak up new experiences.

    Libra

Is history about to repeat itself, Libra? That’s up to you. The full moon lands in your fourth house of home, family, and your private life. Old, sticky memories may surface that reignite triggers you thought you’d healed or worked through. The energy is raw right now as you confront what’s been left unsaid for far too long. You might also deal with power struggles, or feel like you’re facing a challenging decision regarding your living situation, a family member, or someone in your personal life. Remain true to you, trust that the discomfort is temporary, and know that this is your metamorphosis moment.

Your full moon self-care practice: Go through your closet and do a deep purge. Let go of items that are just taking up space. As you clear out physical clutter, associate it with a feeling, situation, or person you’d like to release.

    Scorpio

    https://img.particlenews.com/image.php?url=0nXWn5_0uVLUW3t00
    Photo: W+G Creative

Making decisions feels a little more intense right now, Scorpio. The full moon illuminates your third house of communication, learning, and relationships with extended family. Your intuition always helps you make quick and well-informed decisions but, under these moonbeams, you may feel triggered and stuck. This is a powerful day to speak your mind, even if your voice shakes in the process. Shine a light on what’s been left in the shadows.

Your full moon self-care practice: If you’re feeling nervous about saying what you really want to say, journal it out. Write down your feelings, what sensations arise in your body when you think of those feelings or thoughts, and what you’d like to feel instead. Writing it out can serve as a test run and help you refine your thoughts before sharing them with someone else.

    Sagittarius

    https://img.particlenews.com/image.php?url=1PXnDn_0uVLUW3t00
    Photo: W+G Creative

It’s hard to ignore feelings of scarcity around you, Sagittarius. The full moon activates your second house of resources, livelihood, income, and confidence. It’s possible there’s a shift in your finances and the way you support yourself—either by taking on too much work, leaving a job, or launching a side hustle of your own. These changes can leave you focused too much on what you don’t have rather than what you do have. You may also need to address toxic and unhealthy power dynamics in working relationships. Don’t let someone else’s issues affect your own sense of self and confidence.

Your full moon self-care practice: It’s time to pick up a daily gratitude practice if you haven’t already. Whether it’s journaling about what you’re grateful for, listening to affirmations, or engaging in acts of kindness, consciously focusing on what’s going right or how you can help others is the quickest way to shift your mindset.

    Capricorn

You’re transforming, Capricorn, and it’s impossible to ignore. The full moon lights up your first house of self, identity, and new beginnings. You are ready to share a new side of yourself with the world. You might also take on a new title in your personal life—such as mentor, author, or teacher—or officially get a new certification of some sort. This isn’t the easiest of transitions, and it may bring up a lot of imposter syndrome and fears of showing up authentically. It’s your job to face your fears of being seen and truly embrace who you’ve always been.

Your full moon self-care practice: Find an item in your home that reminds you of an old version of yourself. Write the qualities and characteristics associated with the past version of you on a piece of tape and place it on the item. Take the item and throw it away outside of your home. Trust you are breaking free and removing those outdated qualities with the item.

    Aquarius

Reality checks aren’t fun, Aquarius, but they’re necessary for your growth! The full moon moves through your 12th house of close, healing, solitude, and self-defeating patterns. It’s time to confront the elephant in the room: How have you been enabling your own self-sabotage? What habits or behaviors are you ready to kick to the curb? You might also experience a particularly illuminating realization that leaves you feeling emotional. This energy is thick and murky, and requires you to slow down and prioritize self care. Allow this cycle to close out and give yourself space to process.

Your full moon self-care practice: Ask the Universe (or any spiritual or faith mentor you might have) for guidance and confirmation that you’re on the right path, especially after any revelations you may experience. Pick a random sign or symbol and ask them to show you this as a way of confirming what you now know to be true. You’ll be shocked how even the most random of signs will manage to pop up in the most surprising of places.

    Pisces

Your community is changing, Pisces, and this can feel quite disorienting! The full moon lands in your 11th house of friendships, dreams for your future, support, and networks. You might realize a friend is acting more like a frenemy right now. As your relationships transform, who and what gives you a sense of belonging is shifting along with it. Allow these changes to unfold, no matter how painful. A goal you set for yourself may also manifest thanks to the help of an influential person. But look out for any unspoken strings attached!

Your full moon self-care practice: Push yourself outside of your comfort zone and explore new activities with new people. Sign up for a new workout class or consider volunteering a few hours a week at an organization that you believe in. Mingling with new people can feel life-changing under this full moon.
