The 2010s have come and gone, and we think it’s a pretty underrated era of rock music. Everybody loves to focus on rock music from the early aughts, but the 2010s bore bands like Bastille, Glass Animals, Of Monsters And Men, Tennis, and many more. A lot of great music came out during that decade that shouldn’t be forgotten. And there are quite a few stellar underrated alternative rock bands from the 2010s that are still rockin’ and making music today.

    1. Young The Giant

Young The Giant is still around and touring extensively today, but there’s nothing quite like the music they put out in the 2010s. This alt-rock outfit debuted in 2004 and delivered some pretty great tunes during the 2010s. Their debut self-titled album and Mind Over Matter are essential listening. Their most recent album is American Bollywood from 2022.

    2. Wolf Alice

Wolf Alice had humble beginnings as an acoustic indie duo comprised of Ellie Rowsell and Joff Oddie. Today, they’re a four-piece alt-rock outfit that produced some of their best music in the 2010s. When it comes to underrated alternative rock bands from the 2010s, Wolf Alice is criminally underrated. Visions Of A Life from 2017 is one of their very best records. The outfit’s most recent album is Blue Weekend from 2021.

    3. PUP

A little bit punk, a little bit alt-rock, the Canadian outfit PUP made some seriously addicting music in the 2010s. Their debut self-titled album from 2013 touched on a number of genres, from hardcore punk to pop-punk to post-hardcore. Their sophomore album The Dream Is Over from 2016 captured the youthful rage of punk rock from decades past, just with a touch more maturity. PUP’s most recent release was the 2022 album The Unraveling Of PUPTheBand.

    4. Cloud Nothings

Dylan Baldi is the creative mind behind Cloud Nothings, but the band’s sound and energy are really the result of the sum of its parts. If you’re a fan of alternative rock with a lo-fi, indie sound, you might like Here And Nowhere Else from 2014 or Attack On Memory from 2012. Their most recent release, Final Summer, is also pretty stellar.
