Brazilian Singer Ayres Sasaki Dead After Being Electrocuted on Stage

For most singers, there is no greater feeling than standing on stage in front of a sea of fans. With summer underway, many singers hit the road, looking to share their music all around the country and the world. But for Ayres Sasaki, tragedy struck while he recently stood on stage. The Brazilian rocker prepared to take the stage in Brazil just a few days ago. With Sasaki building a faithful following over the years, he took the stage with excitement. Sadly, Sasaki passed away while performing.

On July 13, Sasaki walked onto the stage in Salinopolis, Brazil with fans cheering for his performance. For one fan, they took the chance to meet the rocker when they decided to jump on the stage. Given the fan was soaked at the time, it seems when they hugged, the water coming off of the person sent an electrical shock through a nearby cable, killing Sasaki.

While Sasaki’s family remains silent on the matter given an investigation is still underway, Sasaki’s aunt, Rita Matos, said, “What we know is that his show was scheduled for a specific time and was moved up, but we are contacting people who were with him at the moment to understand how everything happened. We will gather all the information in a statement that we will release to the press.”

Friends Remember Ayres Sasaki After Tragic Accident

With the concert taking place at the Solar Hotel, the establishment also released a statement, promising to work closely with law enforcement. “We are fully dedicated to providing support to his family and taking the necessary measures. We reaffirm our commitment to fully cooperating with the competent authorities for the proper clarification of the events.”

With Sasaki passing away at 35, many fans and fellow musicians took a moment to remember the singer. A close friend of Sasaki, Adriano Freitas, showered him with love, saying, “We were friends in daily life, beyond music. (He was) a super charismatic guy, his talent was incredible. He was the best singer and guitarist in Belem.”

Another friend, Natto Almeida, added, “What will definitely stand out about Sasaki is his good heart, very polite. I think this will be the lasting mark he leaves behind.”
