A cold front is cutting through the Piedmont now, so temperatures are going to diminish.  Rain chances will be high today, up to 80%, and there is a Level 1/Marginal Risk of severe weather.  The primary threat from thunderstorms will be from damaging winds, and storms are expected between 1 pm and 8 pm.  Today’s high is 85°.

Overnight, showers end, and lows will be near 70°.

Friday, there is a 25% chance of showers and thunderstorms with highs in the mid-80s.

The rest of the 7-day forecast will be “steady as she goes”.  Highs remain in the mid-80s through Wednesday of next week.  We will also have an extended chance of showers and thunderstorms, some of which could produce excessive rainfall.  The chance of rain will stay high, between 60% and 80% through the middle of next week.
