Last month, Trae Young proudly claimed that his 2018 Draft Class can become “one of the best” ever. With the amount of talent they feature and the current playing status of most of them, the Atlanta Hawks star is convinced that they are on their way to reaching the top.

While Trae acknowledged that they're still in the process of making it there, Collin Sexton won't settle for less at the other hand as he believes the ‘18 Draft Class is already stapled as the greatest in NBA history.

    ‘18 is the best?

The 2018 Draft Class is indisputably stacked. From the likes of Young, Luka Doncic, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Jalen Brunson, and Jaren Jackson Jr., this batch currently offers some of the game's brightest stars today. Outside of this, the rest has been overwhelming for borderline stars and high-end role players like Michael Porter Jr., Deandre Ayton, Mikal Bridges, Miles Bridges, Anfernee Simons, Bruce Brown, and Donte DiVincenzo. Other names deserve to be mentioned, but the list goes further, making the draft class truly promising in consideration.

As one of the class’s most talented players, Sexton speaks highly about how he and the rest of his batchmates currently reside in the all-time ranking. In his recent appearance on It Is What It Is show, the Utah Jazz guard boldly proclaimed they are already the cream of the crop over any other draft classes.

Still a long way to go

We can acknowledge the sheer level of confidence that Sexton displayed on behalf of the 2018 Draft Class. But as it is, they are still miles behind from joining or even surpassing the 1984, 1996, and 2003 Draft Classes in the top-tier leaderboard.

The 1984 Class is often regarded as the best, featuring four Hall of Famers Michael Jordan , Hakeem Olajuwon, Charles Barkley, and John Stockton. The 1996 holds a similar distinction with Kobe Bryant , Steve Nash, Allen Iverson, Ray Allen, and Ben Wallace. And as for 2003, LeBron James , Dwyane Wade, Carmelo Anthony, and Chris Bosh are some of the few key names who headline their great glamour.

For now, it is safe to assume that the 2018 Draft Class is heading in the right direction. However, we can only drop that conclusion about where they fall in an all-time debate once their careers are said and done.
