    Commission works on internet, attends events

    Members of the Texas County Commission handled several matters during meetings July 10 – 11.

    Members:

    • Emailed and sent a certified letter to CPI technologies concerning information owned by the county.
    • Contacted Kent Edge, Missouri State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) regional coordinator, on progress with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).
    • Attended a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the new Texas County Memorial Hospital clinic in Licking.
    • Attended the Texas County Livestock Fair.
    • Visited with Mike Ussery and Tucker Jobe, U.S. Sen. Eric Schmitt’s office, concerning issues affecting Texas County.
    • Were informed that the internet would be down for a short period of time as Sho-Me Technologies determined what internet services were being utilized.
    • Received a follow-up letter from the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program concerning the water well for Public Water Supply District #1.
    • Sent an email on the creation of a private/family cemetery.

    In other business, commissioners heard from:

    • Jake Parson and Allen Fay, Higginbotham Insurance, concerning potential services.
    • Sheriff Scott Lindsey on signatures and initials needed for a supplement salary grant.
    • Chuck Manier, county surveyor, on a Missouri Department of Agriculture Land Survey Program Cooperative Remonumentation of 15 corners.
    • Public Administrator Tina Garrett concerning the moving and storing of client’s personal items.
    • The maintenance department on replacing staff that have resigned.
    • Jeff Malam, Pierce Township, on the closure of water crossings.
    • Bobby McCleod, In House Tech, concerning IT issues in the county.
