    Kim So-Hyun’s New K-Drama Serendipity’s Embrace: Release Date, Plot, Cast & More

    Serendipity’s Embrace K-drama is the much-awaited series of this year. Starring Kim So-Hyun and Chae Jong-Hyeop, it centers around the themes of fate and coincidence. The drama tells the story of two people who meet each other after a decade and fall in love.

    Based on a popular webtoon, ‘Is it Fate?’ by Nam Ji-Eun, the upcoming K-drama features So-Hyun as Hong-Ju and Jong-Hyeop as Hyu-Yeong. The webtoon description reads, “A love story that still excites, wanting to believe ‘coincidence’ as ‘fate’! For some, the heart-fluttering moment of first love passes by like a coincidence. For others, the moment coincidence becomes fate, they board the train called love together.” The series will follow the same storyline.

    Serendipity’s Embrace K-drama: When is the release date?

    Serendipity’s Embrace K-drama will premiere on Monday, July 22, 2024, at 8:40 p.m. on tvN. It takes up the slot of the recently ended series, The Player 2: Master of Swindlers. Meanwhile, Kim So-Hyun’s drama will also be available to stream on Viki.

    It will consist of only eight episodes and air every Monday and Tuesday.

    Serendipity’s Embrace K-drama: Who are the cast members?

    The upcoming Korean drama Serendipity’s Embrace stars Kim So-Hyun, Chae Jong-Hyeop, Yun Ji-On, and Kim Da-Som in lead roles.

    So-Hyun plays Lee Hong-Ju, the lead female character in the series. Hong-Ju had a huge crush on a boy at high school. Before graduating, she confessed her feelings to him but got rejected. After a decade, she still struggles to commit to romantic relationships. Hong-Ju became an animation producer, and one day, her life turned upside down when she bumped into her first love in a cafe.

    Actress So-Hyun is a celebrity who has been in the entertainment industry since childhood. Some of her popular dramas include Love Alarm, My Lovely Liar, and The Tale of Nokdu.

    Meanwhile, Serendipity’s Embrace male lead star is Jong-Hyeop. He plays Kang Hu-Yeong, Hong-Ju’s high-school crush. The 29-year-old financial planner has returned to South Korea from the US. He becomes shocked when he coincidentally meets Hong-Ju at a cafe. Old memories take over him, which also shows his feelings for her. Then why did he reject her in high school? Or will he give his fate another chance? All questions will be answered next week.

    Jong-Hyeop is one of the most talented actors in the K-drama world. He has previously impressed fans with his roles in Castaway Diva, Eye Love You, Nevertheless, and The Witch’s Diner.

    Furthermore, the other two pivotal roles in the upcoming series include Bang Jun-Oh (Ji-On) and Kim Hye-Ji (Da-Som). Jun-Oh is the second lead character who will specialize in Hong-Ju. She is his fan, and Jun-Oh is a famous novel writer. Hye-Ji, on the other hand, is an English teacher and Hong-Ju’s best friend.

    Aside from the aforementioned cast, Serendipity’s Embrace K-drama also stars Lee Won-Jung, Hwang Sung-Bin, Choi Dae-Chul, Yoon Jung-Hee, Kim Won-Hae, and Kim Jung-Nan.

    Serendipity’s Embrace K-drama: What is it about?

    K-drama Serendipity’s Embrace is a romance comedy series revolving around two young people. While the girl has had a crush on him in the past, the boy cannot stop thinking about her when they meet in the present. Does fate bring them together, or is their encounter a mere coincidence? As the two explore the answer, love blooms between them. This is the first time actors Kim So-Hyun and Chae Jong-Hyeop play lovers.

    Filmmaker Song Hyun-Wook has directed the series. He is known for showcasing his directing skills in The Midnight Studio, The Golden Spoon, The King’s Affection, and The Beauty Inside.

    Meanwhile, Serendipity’s Embrace will air new episodes twice a week on Mondays and Tuesdays on tvN and Viki.
