Beware of copycat delta-8 THC infused snacks

Federal regulators are issuing warnings to five companies about the illegal sales of copycat food products containing delta-8 THC.

The packaging looks very similar to popular foods which is concerning to officials who fear these products will be mistaken for traditional snacks.

“Inadequate or confusing labeling can result in children or unsuspecting adults consuming products with strong resemblance to popular snacks and candies that contain delta-8 THC without realizing it,” said FDA Principal Deputy Commissioner Namandjé Bumpus, Ph.D.

Copycat food products containing delta-8 THC are also a concern to the FDA as they are said to be easy to purchase and are often accessible to the youth.
