Former NFL Star Sternly Warns Giants About Saquon Barkley

One of the biggest moves of the 2024 NFL offseason was running back Saquon Barkley changing teams. He left the New York Giants but stayed in the NFC East.

Seeing their best player leave in free agency was hard enough for Giants fans. Watching him land with the rival Philadelphia Eagles on a lucrative three-year deal was just salt in the wound.

Over the last few offseasons, the running back market has been depressed. Teams aren’t committing as much money to the position, which has left even top-tier running backs with underwhelming contract offers.

In 2024, the positional market bounced back a bit. Several players received multi-year deals and Christian McCaffrey reset the market again with a new extension with the San Francisco 49ers.

While his record-setting deal didn’t receive much flack, Saquon Barkley’s deal did garner a lot of attention. There is a good amount of people who believe that the Eagles overpaid for him given the wear and tear he has and his inability to stay healthy.

When healthy, Saquon Barkley is one of the best running backs in the NFL. He carried the Giants offense by himself for most of the last six seasons.

Philadelphia won’t be relying on him as heavily given some of the other talent on the roster. But, a former NFL star does believe that the Penn State product will show out in 2024.

During a recent segment on The Carton Show, Plaxico Burress gave the Giants a stern warning about their former running back. Be prepared to go up against a highly motivated player.

“You can mark my words: when he lines up against the New York Giants, he is going to be featured…All I can say is watch out,” Burress said.

Week 7 at MetLife Stadium will be the first time that Saquon Barkley and the Eagles face off against the Giants. Emotions will assuredly be running high that afternoon, as the star running back will be met with some harsh reactions from fans.
