SPARTANBURG COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) – A man has been accused of breaking into a Spartanburg County church four times in the last two weeks.

Pastor Tim Worthy said the first break-in happened on July 2 at River View Baptist Church located on Old Greenville Highway.

He said his wife went to clean the church’s fellowship hall when she noticed the door was unlocked. She then went into the church where she noticed the back window was broken.

Once Pastor Worthy got to the church, he learned that the church office was broken into and the church debit card and all the keys were taken.

He said they immediately canceled the card and replaced all the locks.

That’s also when the church started planning to have WiFi and cameras installed so they could identify who the visitor was.

Pastor Worthy said the alleged burglar came back three more times but did not take anything.

“I’m glad they didn’t take anything or vandalize anything,” Pastor Worthy said.

On Tuesday, the visitor, later identified as Noah Harris visited for the last time.

On Wednesday, the sheriff’s office arrested Harris and charged him with three counts of burglary, four counts of malicious injury to property and one count of petit larceny.

“Hopefully this will get his life turned around,” Pastor Worthy said.

Harris is currently being held in the Spartanburg County Detention Center on a $88,000 bond.
