Verizon is offering a free one-year subscription to Netflix Premium, the streaming leader’s highest-end plan, to customers signing up for Peacock.

The bundle, via the telecom giant’s “+play” hub, saves customers more than $275. It is the first time Netflix and Peacock have been bundled by Verizon, which has been a key distribution partner for Disney and other streaming players over the past several years.

The promotion begins today and lasts for a limited time. Peacock’s involvement in the package is timed to the lead-up to the Paris Olympics, which start later this month. Every event in the Games will be carried on Peacock. The NBCUniversal service’s Premium subscription level, which is the entry-level one with advertising, is the one that qualifies for the Netflix offer.

Last year, Verizon renewed an offer giving customers one year of Netflix at no charge if they sign up for a different streaming service.

Netflix’s ad-free Premium tier, which costs $22.99 a month, allows subscribers up to four devices simultaneously streaming and also 4K HDR quality.

Bundling has gained pace across the streaming landscape, with third parties like Verizon continuing to build packages as well as streaming operators themselves starting to form partnerships.

Verizon launched +play in 2022, offering customers access to Netflix, Peloton, Disney+, Discovery+, A+E Networks, AMC+ and other streaming outlets. The concept behind the offering was to give customers a simple and efficient way to access and take advantage of exclusive deals for content. The platform extends beyond entertainment to encompass fitness, lifestyle, wellness, education and music programming.
